Individual Counseling
Maintaining healthy relationships with friends, family, significant others and co-workers is crucial to leading a happy, productive life. But without a solid relationship with yourself, it becomes more difficult to maintain and grow these external bonds that are so important to your wellbeing.
If you’d like to embark on a path of self-improvement, whether you need to focus on substance abuse, intimacy issues, past trauma, stress, overcoming a major life change or more, we can help.
Our Approach
In the comfort of a confidential one-on-one setting, we will listen to your concerns and help you gain insight into why you are experiencing your particular issues. We will then customize an action plan that will help you overcome these problems and improve your relationships – both with yourself and with those around you.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS therapy is based on the psychological theory called Multiplicity of the Mind. This theory states that our psyches are made up of different parts, called subpersonalities, that exist as an internal family within us. These may include the inner critic, the caretaker, the pleaser, the angry self, the abandoned child or many others, each one offering its own goals, perspectives, feelings, memories and motivations.
As a Level 2 IFS Practitioner, Vera Eck, M.F.T. can help you explore and make sense of all these different parts, which helps free you from any negative burdens they might carry. The more unburdened you become, the easier it will be to access your wiser and more creative self.
